Meet Dr. Starks
Katie Starks, M.D., M.S.
Dr. Starks is a Southern California native; now a Texan. Growing up playing volleyball, she was fortunate to have one of her favorite things help pay her way through college. After completing her Master’s degree in Cellular and Systemic Physiology, she felt she could better serve others as a physician.
Having had a family dairy in New Mexico, she completed her medical school at University of New Mexico. While in her medical school, Dr. Starks was awarded Alpha Omega Alpha membership, the Faculty Excellence Award, and the Internal Medicine Student of the Year. Both residency and fellowship training were done at UT Southwestern in Dallas with a high patient volume and great faculty instruction.
Dr. Starks specializes in numerous lid disorders (medical and cosmetic), orbital processes, neuro-opththalmolgy and general ophthalmology. In cosmetic plastics, she approaches restoring a healthy, more youthful appearance by both surgical and non-surgical treatments such as injectable hyaluronic acid gels (e.g. Restylane) and anti-wrinkle agents (e.g. Botox).
For fun, she spends time with her husband and new son. Whenever possible she’s up for a game of volleyball, skiing, baking desserts and being involved in her local church. Dr. Starks enjoys medical mission trips and hopes to participate on many more in the future.
